Chedsey, William, Dd
Chedsey, William, D.D., an English Roman Catholic divine, became prebendary of London in 1548, canon of Windsor in 1554, archdeacon of Middlesex in. 1556, prebendary of Oxford in 1557, and president of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, in 1558. He was deprived of all his preferments in 1559 for not taking the oath of supremacy, and committed to the Fleet Prison. He published several sermons and disputations.
