Chasan, Chajim, a learned Jew of Smyrna, who died in 1712 in Poland, while collecting funds in aid of the resident Jews in Palestine, is the author of חִיַּי שׁנוֹת, or Discussions on the Pentateuch (Venice, 1693). See Furst, Bibl. Jud. i, 167. (B. P.)
