Chaperon, Nicolas
Chaperon, Nicolas a French engraver, was born at Chateaudun in 1596, and studied painting under Simon Vouet. He visited Rome for improvement, and remained several years, in which time he published his set of fifty-two plates from the loges of Raphael in the Vatican.
