Cerati, Gasparo
Cerati, Gasparo an Italian theologian, was born at Parma in 1690. He entered the society of the Oratory, soon attained ecclesiastical dignities, and visited the most. celebrated universities of Europe. He was appointed convent-prior of the order of St. Stephen, and superintendent of the University of Pisa, where he rendered very important service to literature. He died June 19, 1769, leaving several works, of which only one has been printed, Dissertatione Postuma sull' Utilita dell' Inesto.
