Cats (Catz, or Caets), Charles
Cats (Catz, or Caets), Charles a Brabant theologian of the beginning of the 18th century, was at first an adherent of the Roman Church, but later went into Holland, joined the Socinians, and was imprisoned for the translation of the New Test. into Dutch, but, afterwards was released. He then settled at Embden, in Prussia, but was compelled to remove. He wrote, also, Jesus Christus ist der Saaligmaker der Welt (Amsterdam, 1697). See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Générale, s.v.
