Capito (2)

Capito, an Italian prelate and geographer, was born at Narni. He entered the order of the Servites, and became archbishop of Avignon. He died in 1576, leaving, Explanations of Certain Passages of the Old and New Test. (Venice, 1579; Cologne, 1581). See Hoefer Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
