Campbell, William (3)
Campbell, William (3), an English Congregational minister, was born at Wick, in the north of Scotland, in 1803. He was a precocious youth, and, at the age of fourteen, had made such progress in learning that he became tutor in a wealthy family in Sutherlandshire. Subsequently he .entered Edinburgh University, and took his degree of M.A. before hne reached manhood. Having joined the Church, he resolved on' quitting the university to enter the ministry, and, accordingly, after taking. a theological course at Highbury College, he was ordained at Cheltenham. .Subsequently he labored at Newcastle-on- Tyne, Stockton-on-Tees, London, Sydenham, Monmouth, and finally, resided at Penge Park, London, and died July 8,1876.
