Camerata, Giuseppe (1), an Italian painter and engraver, was born at Venice in 1668, and studied under Gregorio Lazzarini. At a great age he executed, for the gallery of the elector of Saxony, The Parable of the Lost Drachma, after Feti The Holy Family, after J. C. Procaccini; The Assumption, after Camil. Procaccini; The Chastity of Joseph, after Contarini. He died at Dresden in 1761. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
