Camargo, Ignacio
Camargo, Ignacio, a Spanish Jesuit and professor of theology at Salamanca, was born Dec. 26, 1650, and died Dec. 22, 1722. He published Regula Honestatis Moralis, a theological treatise on the way to act morally (Naples, 1702, fol.), in which he combats the doctrine of probability; viz., that it is allowable for a man to follow an opinion which he thinks probable, although it appears to him to be less certain, less sure, than the contrary opinion.
