Calfhill (Calfill, Cawfield, Etc,), James
Calfhill (Calfill, Cawfield, Etc,-), James an English prelate, was born in Shropshire in 1530, He was educated at Eton, and entered King's College, Cambridge, in 1545. In 1548 he was removed to Christ Church, Oxford, of which he afterwards became subdean. In 1565 he became incumbent of Bocking, in Essex, and archdeacon of Colchester; and in 1570 was nominated to the see of Worcester, but died in August, before his consecration.
