CalãmUs sAcer

Calãmus Sacer (also called pugillaris orfistula), a tube made of gold or silver, with a larger orifice at one end than at the other, through which the consecrated wine was drawn into the mouth, the large end of the tube being inserted into the chalice. SEE CHALICE.
