Buttinghausen, Carl
Buttinghausen, Carl a German theologian, was born at Frankenthal in 1731. He taught theology at Heidelberg, and constantly applied himself to historical researches upon the various states of Germany. He died June 13, 1786. He wrote a Supplement to the Chronicles of Arenten (Frankfort, 1758): — History of the Palatinate and Switzerland (Zurich, 1766). See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
