Burnet, Gilbert (1)

an English clergyman, son of bishop Gilbert Burnet, was educated at Merton College, Oxford, and at Leyden. He became chaplain to George I, and died early in life, about 1720. His literary works embrace an abridgment of his father's History of the Reformation (1719):- The Generation of the Son of God (1720):-and some controversial pieces and contributions to various periodicals.
