Brizio (or Briccio), Prancesco
Brizio (Or Briccio), Prancesco a distinguished Italian painter and engraver, was born at Bologna in 1574. He studied art in the academy of Caracci, and died in 1623. The following are some of his principal works: The Return out of Egypt; The Holy Family; St. Francis kneeling holding the Infant Jesus, and the Virgin Mary in the Clouds; The Great St. Jerome; Christ and the Samaritan Woman.
