Bridge, George Washington

Bridge, George Washington a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Betherston, Kent, England, November 27, 1817. He was led to Christ as a Sunday-school scholar at the age of ten, and licensed to preach at sixteen. When about thirty he emigrated to America; in 1849 settled as a mechanic at Stockbridge, N.Y., and. in 1851 entered the Oneida Conference. In 1863 he was transferred to the Providence Conference, and in its active ranks labored until his death, October 28, 1867. Mr. Bridge was intelligent, affectionate .and energetic.
