Brescius, Carl Friedrich

Brescius, Carl Friedrich a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Bautzen, Jan. 31, 1766. In 1788 he was preacher at Muskau, and in 1806 at Triebel; in 1811 was general superintendent at Liibben; in 1816 he was at Frankfort, and in 1836 was made doctor of theology and general superintendent of the Neumarkt. He died in 1845. He wrote, Apologien verskannter Wahrheiten aus dem Gebiete der Christenlehre (Leipsic, 1804): — Predigten, Reden, etc. (ibid. 1845).
