Breitinger, Johann Jacob (2)
a Swiss theologian, was born at Zurich in 1701. He was canon and professor of Greek there, became famous for his controversies with the Leipsic school, and died in 1776, leaving an edition of the Septuagint (Zurich, 1730, 4 vols. 4to), and some lesser works, for which see Hoefer, Nouv.
