Brancato, Francesco
Brancato, Francesco an Italian missionary, arrived in China in 1637, and there preached the Gospel with zeal until 1665. Protected by the magistrates, he constructed forty-five oratorios and more than ninety churches. He died at Canton in 1671. He wrote several works in the Chinese language, for which see Hoefer, Nouv.
