Brabrook, Benjamin Franklin

Brabrook, Benjamin Franklin, a Baptist minister, was born at Acton, Mass., Sept. 15, 1809. He pursued his classical studies at Granville College, now Denison University, O., and at Columbian College, Washington, D.C. One year, 1836-37, was spent by him in theological study at the Newton Institution. He was ordained at St. Louis, Mo., May 13; 1837, was a pastor there two years, at Great Falls, N. H., four years, an agent for a religious society, 1843 to 1845, pastor of the Baptist Church in Davenport, la,, 1845 to 1848; and finally an agent of the American Baptist Home Missionary Society. He died at Davenport, June 9, 1853. See Newton General Catalogue, p. 19. (J. C. S.)
