Bowne, Anne
Bowne, Anne, relict of John Bowne, was an elder in the Society of Friends (orthodox). For more than fifty years she resided in the ancient dwelling at Flushing, L. I., where the yearly, quarterly, and monthly meetings of Friends had been held for a long time, and where she often entertained the ministers of her denomination. She died at Flushing. April 16, 1834, aged seventy-three years. See The Friend, 7, 232.
