Boston, John

Boston, John, an English monk of St. Edmundsbury, is supposed to have died in 1410. He was one of the first collectors of the lives of English writers and the precursor of Leland, Bale, and Pits. His work was entitled Speculum Coenobitarum (Oxford, 1722). See Allibone, Dict. of Brit. and Amer. Authors, s.v.
