Bonone, Carlo
Bonone, Carlo a distinguished Italian painter, was born at Ferrrara in 1569, and studied tinder G. Mazzuoli. He afterwards spent some time at Bologna, after which' he went to Rome, and then to Venice. He died in 1631. His smaller works exhibit so much of the style of Caracci, that he was styled the Caracci of Ferrara. His best work is the Feast of' Herod, in the Church of St. Benedetto, and next in value is his Miracle at Cana, in the refectory of the Certosini at Ferrara. Many other works of this painter are to be found in the public edifices of Ferrara.
