Bethsamos

Beth'samos (Βαιθασμών v. r. Βαιθασμώθ), a place of which 42 inhabitants are stated to have returned from the captivity (1 Esdras 5:18); evidently the BETH- AZMAVETH SEE BETH-AZMAVETH (q.v.) of the genuine text (Ne 7:28; simply AZMAVETH in Ezr 2:24).
