Berkeley, Gilbert
Berkeley, Gilbert an English prelate of the 16th century, was a native of Norfolk, being descended from ancient barons of that name. He was consecrated bishop of Bath and Wells, in the first year of the reign of Elizabeth, and sat in that see twenty-two years. He died in 1581, and was buried in his own cathedral.
