Beon
Be'on (Heb, Beon', בּעֹן, apparently an early error of transcription for MEON SEE MEON [q.v.]; Sept. Βαιαν v. r. Βαμά), one of the places fit for pasturage given by Joshua to the tribes on the east of Jordan (Nu 32:3). It is elsewhere more properly called BETH-BAAL. MEON (Jos 13:17), or more briefly BAAL-MEON (Nu 32:38), and BETH- MEON (Jer 48:23), for which this name may be a contraction.
