Bause, Johann Friedrich

Bause, Johann Friedrich, a German engraver, was born at Halle, in Saxony, in 1738. He is said to have learned the art without an instructor, and tc have imitated the style of J. G. Wille. He died at Weimar in 1814. The following are two of his sacred plates: The Repentance of St. Peter and The Three Apostles.
