Barr, William H Dd
Barr, William H. D.D., a Presbyterian minister, was born in North Carolina in 1779. He was educated at Hampden Sidney College, studied theology privately, was licensed by the Concord Presbytery in 1806, and became a missionary in the lower parts of South Carolina. In 1809 he accepted a call from Upper Long Cane Church to become their pastor, where he remained until his death, Jan. 9, 1843. See Sprague, Annals of' the Amer. Pulpit, 4 384.
