Baron, John
Baron, John a preacher of the United Methodist Free. Church, was a Lancashire lad, born near Bacup, among the "common people." A diligent Sunday scholar, a devoted teacher; converted at nineteen, he began to preach, and as a home missionary did good service for God among the poor in several circuits. While yet in rising manhood, he died at Ilkeston, Feb. 7, 1862, suddenly, but gloriously, having lived a most useful life and left a precious memory. See Minutes of the Sixth Annual Assembly.
