Barber, Jonathan
Barber, Jonathan a Presbyterian minister, was born at West Springfield, Mass., in 1712. He graduated at Yale College in 1730, and was licensed to preach in 1732. He preached for some years on Long Island. In 1740 he went South, and was superintendent of the Orphan House in Georgia seven years. He died in 1783. See Sprague, Annals of the Amer. Pulpit, 3, 82.
