Baptism of Desire
Baptism of Desire (baptismus flaminis) is a phrase used for the desire experienced by an unbaptized person living in a heathen country or beyond the influence of the Visible Church to receive the sacrament of baptism, which desire, with a sincere intention and hearty repentance, is regarded by theologians as standing in the place of, or as equivalent to, actual baptism — baptismus fluminis.
