Ballantine, Henry
Ballantine, Henry a missionary of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions to Ahmednuggur, India, was born in Schodack, N. Y., in 1813. He graduated at the University of Ohio and at Andover, Mass.; was ordained at Columbus, O., in 1835, and in May of that year sailed from Boston for Western India, where he labored among the Mahrattas with great fidelity and success until his death, which occurred at sea when four and a half days from Liverpool, while on his way back to the United States, Nov. 9, 1865.
