Baker, Joan

Baker, Joan an English martyr, was from London, and suffered martyrdom in the 16th century. The chief objection against her was that she would not only not reverence the crucifix herself, but had also persuaded a friend of hers lying at the point of death not to put any confidence in it. See Fox, Acts and Monuments, 4:175.
