Auranus
Aura'nus (Αὔρανος), given as the name of the leader in the riots at Jerusalem against Lysimachus (2 Maccabees 4:40), where he is described as "a man far gone in years, and no less in folly." Other MSS., however (followed by the Vulg.), read Τύραννος, Tyrannus, which may be taken either as a proper name or appellative, q. d. ringleader.
