Assunto, Onorio Dell'

an Italian monk of the Order of Carmelites, and theologian, was born in 1639. When he entered this order, he gave up the name Giulio Carlo Guidetti, and taught philosophy and theology in several Italian-cities. He was admitted to all the degrees of the hierarchy, and became provost- general of the order. He died at Rome Jan 15, 1716. He wrote, among other works, L'Anima Divota in Spirito e Virti versso il Bambino Iddio (Milan, 1677, 1680): La Vita Ragionevole dell' Uomo fatto per Dio (ibid. 1678):-Breve Istruzione per Ispendere bene il Tempo della Presente Vita (Venice, 1683):--La Prudenza dello Spirito che conduce alla Vita Eteirna (Rome, 1707).
