Asinaeus
Asinaeus (Α᾿σιναῖος), a Jew during the captivity at Babylon, of whose exploits, in connection with his brother Anilaeus (Α᾿νιλαῖος), in raising himself from obscurity to the chief power in the province of Mesopotamia, and of whose reverses afterward in consequence of an idolatrous marriage, Josephus gives a detailed but apparently apocryphal account (Ant. 18:9).
