Anianus (3)
Anianus (called also Adroianus by Sozomen), presbyter OF ANTIOCH, was ordained bishop of that Church at the Council of Seleucia, A.D. 359, in the room of Eudoxius, who, together with Acacius and others, had been deposed. The Acacian party immediately arrested the newly made bishop, and delivered him into the hands of the civil authorities, by whom he was sent into exile. The subsequent fortunes of Anianus are unknown. Nicephorus gives four years to his episcopate, but his numbers are not to be trusted.
