Andrews, William (1)
Andrews, William (1), a missionary of the Church of England, came to preach to the Mohawk Indians in New York as a successor to the Rev. Thoroughgood Moore. At a meeting of the Commissioners of Indian Affairs held in Albany, he was greeted by the sachems with great respect; but his mission proving unsuccessful, he abandoned it in 1719. See Sprague, Annals of the Amer. Pulpit, 5, 91.
