Amphidromia

Amphidromia in Greek paganism, was a festival, among the Athenians, held a few days after the birth of a child. At this festival the child was carried about the house and thus shown to the family and the house-idols; at the same time a name was given to it; the entire house was profusely decorated, and a supper ended the whole.
