Alypius (4)
Alypius bishop OF CASAREA, in Cappadocia, was one of the metropolitans to whom the emperor Leo wrote respecting the Council of Chalcedon and the death of Proterius. He is also mentioned as assenting to the deposition of Lampetius, a Messalian, whom he had ordained, and who was convicted of immorality. See Labbe, Concil. 4, 1904 sq.; Photius, Bibl. 52.
