Allen, Laban Wheaton

Allen, Laban Wheaton a Congregational minister, was born at Pelham, N. H., Dec. 11, 1843. After a preparatory course at Phillips Academy at Andover, he entered Amherst College, at which he graduated in 1866, and three years afterwards graduated at Andover Theological Seminary. In 1869 he was ordained pastor at South Braintree, Mass., but left in 1872, going to Greeley, Col., where he was acting pastor until 1873. On account of failing health, he sailed for Europe, residing there a year, then went to Los Angeles, Cal. Returning to his father's house in Hanover, Mass., he died there Aug. 23, 1875. See Cong.
