Alencon, Guillaume
Alencon, Guillaume, a martyr who did much good in the provinces of France, in 1554, by colportage. Coming to Montpellier, he was there circumvented by false brethren, detected, and put in prison. In his faith he was firm and constant to the end of his martyrdom; being burned Jan. 7, 1554. See Fox, Acts and Monuments, 4, 416.
