Ahlai

Ah'lai (Hebrew Achlay', אחלי, perh. ornamental), the name of a woman and also of a man.

1. (Sept. Α᾿αδαϊv v. r. Δαδαί.) The daughter and only child of Sheshan, a descendant of Judah, married to her father's Egyptian slave Jarha (q.v.), by whom she had Attai (1Ch 2:31,34-35). B.C. prob. ante 1658.

2. (Sept. Ο᾿λί v. r. Α᾿χαϊά.) The father of Zabad, which latter was one of David's body-guard (1Ch 11:41). B.C. ante 1046.
