Adams, William (5), an English clergyman, was born in 1814. He became vicar of St. Peter's, Oxford; acquired considerable celebrity as a writer of religious works; and died in 1848. Among his published works are, Shadow of the Cross (1842) k-Sacred Allegories (2d ed. 1844).:-The Fall of Cresus (1846):-and Warnings of Holy Week (3d ed. 1849).
