Abdias, Ben-shalom
Abdias, Ben-Shalom, a celebrated rabbi of the 7th century. He sent a number of Jewish doctors, it is said, to Arabia, to discuss with Mohammed the laws of Moses. The result of this discussion, which is of great authority to Mussulmans, is found at the end of the Koran printed at Zurich in 1543. See Hoefer, Nouv,. Biog. Generale, s.v.
